THE NAIJA YOUTH AND PRESSURE
Here's a quick piece of moral support to every young Nigerian, especially those between ages 20 to 30, that have unceremoniously been saddled with pressure to live up to a certain expectation or standard within a scary “side mirror” near future.
Can you relate?... the self-induced pressure, that deep wish to be the one to lift your family out the Naija situation, that terrifying uncertainty of what the future might hold, the disappointment when things didn't go like you thought they will and that feeling of responsibility for everyone. See... you're not alone, we gather dey, and trust me, we will make it.
Don't get it twisted, this is not some sort of “aspire your Maguire to perspire” piece, but I have to assure you that as far as you're consistently, actively and legally working out those laid out plans of yours to achieve big things, you have no choice but to always believe that you will, because if you don't, who will?. Put faith in your work, study and grow constantly, put God first above all things and leave all of the worrying to Him.
Most importantly, don't let societal pressure drive you into doing anything stupid or illegal. Because say your mate don dey ride Benz no mean say your own no go come. Trust the process. You and me know for sure that those shortcuts always end up very bad, so why not be sure and confident of your own craft?.
Someone once told me that the most relevant motivational quote in the world is Nike's slogan “Just Do It”, and I honestly agree. Not every of those quotes you see on the internet that sound good will actually work for you. Carve out your own niche, discover what suits you and whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all diligence.
Lol. If you read this piece and still choose to go on with indulging in illegal ways to get rich, they will catch you and never leave you like your brother Hushpuppi in Jesus name, amen, fire π₯π₯π
