ÀRÓDAN; THE TALE OF A YORUBA BOY

Yoruba culture is very beautiful and cuts across everyday dealing, even relationship. One of those is a system called ÀRÓDAN. Àródan is a system of dealing use by Yoruba elders on troublesome children, and till you grow up, you'll never know what it is, and even when you do, Yoruba parents are very good at confusing their children, when it comes to something they don't want their children to know 😂😂😂.

Our ancestors must have faced a lot from dealing with stubborn and troublesome children (like inioluwa and southpaw 😌😉) without knowing what to do. So I guess that's what brought about the Àródan system to the rescue 😂😄😁.

if you grew up in a Yoruba home and didn't collect Àródan, then your butty must really be on another level. I once told you I was raised a butty, right? I still collected Àródan, in fact I collect am tire.

Growing up, I wasn't troublesome like that (write your argument as essay 😂😂😂) but once I start my "something you might call wahala", I always end up collecting Àródan. I didn't really know what's going on until I paid very close attention to it and then I discovered that; every time I start the wahala, they always end up sending me to one brother in the next flat to go and collect "Àródan". I went like 20times or more sef, and that foolish brother too dinur tell me (I don suffer walai 🙅🙍😭), he'll just tell me to sit down, that the person with it is not around.

I finally found out tho, but it was almost too late because I was almost through with primary school already. But, when I finally did, I promised myself na all this children around me go suffer am.
My sister was a good shaid, so I didn't do much to her, but you see that my brother ehn, and all the children around that time,  dem hear am 😂😂😂. I don repent now o, although I still do once in a while 😇😌😝.

Funny enough, most of this 21century shidren won't know what Àródan is, what a generation... Let me be going jeje jare.

Happy Sunday to you by the way. O dabo 🚶🚶🚶
