KASHAMADUPE. Vol. 1π€π
Sometimes, a bus with nylon as windows guarantees a smooth trip more than that car that's appealing to you.
That car is not your sure ticket to a smooth and fast journey o. Finkabourrit again π
This is a life story! A non-fiction filled with friction.
What do they say again, "Eni ba de be lo le so" (He that reacheth, testifieth)π
On one fateful day of the week, after about 6 months at home, I decided to come down to Ife then Ejigbo from Lagos, for two noble reasons. (Trust me, my reasons were noble) ππ
I needed to travel twice in one day. So, I decided to leave home as early as 5am, looking so fresh in my white and sky blue drip(My first mistake of the day).π But, as the devil will have it, I faced different obstacles like Big Brother Naija Housemates during their HoH challenge.
Well, let's divide this into headings. It nekcestry!
P.S: I had had the feeling it was going to be a rough trip the previous day. I told my mum and what will a typical Deeper Life woman say? I leave you to guess that. π
GOD DEY FOR HIS OWN
It all started that morning. Mum also needed to get somewhere urgently. So, we got to the bus stop together. As we got to the bus stop, we sighted a bus that would help a lot. In that haste, we hurried to meet up. But, for reasons I still don't understand, we decided not to board the bus anymore.
While we were waiting for another bus, I felt the urge to rock my shades (You na'am sayin) As I checked my glass case, I discovered I took my kid sister's case, not mine. I needed to call her to bring mine to the bus stop. It was at that point I discovered my phone had fallen off. I had to trace the phone back and luckily, I found it resting comfortably in one corner of the road, face down.
What if we had boarded the bus we were chasing the other time? Just what if?
God dey for his own!π
THE HIKE
Traveling on a Friday in Lagos or Ogun state is a whole ish on its own. First is the rush you face at different hours of the day. And worst of it all is the hike in price you have to deal with. For Lagosians(especially those on the mainland like us), Oshodi is the surest terminal to travel from. Now, if you have spent 1000 naira to Oshodi already, you should know you are in for an expensive rollercoaster that day. π
To cap it all, for the first time in my life, I couldn't find a bus going to Ife at Oshodi and now, I had to go to Ojota again at another expensive priceπππ
At this point my drip was already dripping stains. Little did I know that it all just beganπ When I got to Ojota, I discovered there were a lot more of these issues to come that day! ππππ
